High level cleaning on critical infrastructure takes more than just height. It needs the right equipment, diligent planning and a strong focus on safety. Blade Access recently supported a pressure washing and cladding clean at Daedalus Converter Station IFA2, working alongside National Grid.
With the scale of the structure and the access required, two of our Palfinger P480 48m truck mounted platforms were sent to site. Both machines were fully earthed to meet site requirements, giving the team safe and reliable access across the building. The reach and positioning of the platforms meant large areas of cladding could be cleaned efficiently without compromising safety.
Before arriving on site, our team carried out detailed planning to make sure everything ran smoothly. This included safe setup, clear working zones and close coordination with other contractors. Once in place, the platforms performed exactly as needed, helping the team complete the work to a high standard.
