Wind Power

Turbine access to 104m, rated to 12.5m/s.
Wind farm maintenance runs from blade inspection and detailed survey through to complex structural repair, blade installation and recoating, and all of it happens at hub height.

Getting to the turbine is its own job. Wind farms sit at the end of long private access tracks, often on upland ground with gradients and soft verges, and a single site may have twenty or more turbines to work through in sequence. With many WTGs in the UK reaching significant hub heights, Blade Access supplies truck mounted platform hire with IPAF certified operators, crewed by teams trained to work up close on these high value assets.

Our largest platforms work above 100m, including the Bronto S104HLA at 104m. One of our S104HLA platforms gives a 102m cage floor, 33m of lateral outreach and a 600kg platform, and further models reach 90m, including the Ruthmann T900 Flex with 42.5m of outreach.
Turbine hardstandings are built for crane loads, but the ground between them is not always. Trackway is available where the route or the standing will not take the machine. Every platform is rated to 12.5m/s, and the S104HLA cage rotates 90 degrees each way to present square to a curved blade.
