It is with great pleasure that Blade Access can confirm our migration from OHSAS 18001 to the new accredited ISO 45001 Health and Safety standard. It is a requirement for companies to make this transition by March 2021 but Blade Access have proactively undertaken this progression two years in advance. The weather can be challenging for us when working at height in Scotland, UK but not of late! Glorious sunshine combined with minimal wind speeds has enabled our client to make great progress over the past month. Today, Blade Access Ltd completed the first ever landing of a ‘Powered Spacer Trolley’ on to a new trial T-Pylon line at National Grids training centre in the UK. What made this even more unique is that it was completed using the new and innovative Blade PST Lift System with one of our Truck Mounted Platforms. As high winds are sweeping across the country they are causing damage to buildings in many locations. Blade Access received an out of hours emergency call last night to provide access to a building in Newcastle as some of the cladding tiles had become dislodged and fallen from the building façade. Without delay, Blade Access dispatched a Traffic Management response team to site to ensure ‘No Parking Cones’ were deployed opposite where a 70m Truck Mounted Platform would need to be set up this morning. At the break of dawn, the Traffic Management team then set up a ‘Stop and Go Lane Closure System’ to provide a safe area for the Truck Mounted Access Platform to work within. When our …

Truck Mounted Lift manufacturer Isoli, is planning to launch a new range of 3.5 tonne PT telescopic aerial work platforms. The new truck mounted models will have working heights of 14, 16 and 20 metres, fully hydraulic controls, 250kg platform capacity and a fully proportional overload system. The smallest model is a simple 14 metre unit, the PT 140 with a two section boom and 8.7 metres of outreach and completely unrestricted operation with full 250kg platform capacity. The 16 metre PT 160 is a three section boom for very compact stowed dimensions and has up to 11 metres of outreach with 120kg in the platform.
